PART 1 of 4: Write out Your Game Design Plan: Due Friday  |  3/29

Picture

Part 1 of the Video Game Box Design starts with your Idea

What is your Game about? Who are the Characters?  What's the over all plan?  Plan this out first.  See the back side of the Wolverine Box . . . the back of the Box is on the left of the "Spine" of the box.  Your description should be able to fit on the back and be easily readable. Look at a lot of Box Designs to get an idea of what the pros do.

This will be written out as a Word Document.  You will use this text for the back side of the Video Game Box.  The description you write now, will tell the reader what your game does, how it works, and who the characters are.  Once I see this feature I will give you a "Go / No Go" and you'll move to Part 2. Do NOT start on the Game Design until you have approval to do so. Think this part through, write clearly, and make sure it'll work; that it makes sense to the reader.  I will give you a Worksheet to fill out to make this part easier.

PART 2 of 4:  What is the Name of Your Game? and What Type Face will you use?

Picture
The Title / Name of your game is very important.  What is the Time-Frame?

Is this an other-worldly game; from another time?  Is it futuristic?  Is it from the past but in the future - after the world has ended?  Is this a Cyber Space Game?  All of these factors are to be considered.  You will then be able to use the Type with the Photo in it Exercise to mix Type with Texture and or Backgrounds.  I will demonstrate that for you in class.
