WORD CLOUD

The Word Cloud Project is an exercise in Getting to Know Type and how Type "plays" a MAJOR part in the design of your message.
As Graphic Artists, we "paint" our canvases with images and type.  So, to understand type from a design perspective is important to us.
In this project, you will choose a Topic to base your word cloud around.  All of the words will describe; "illustrate" your topic.
At the same time, Type or typography carries a huge burden in that Type is HALF the message - imagery is the other half.
So, when you choose a typeface, there is much to consider.  Would you put a Carnival Style Font in a Funeral Announcement?
Would you use a Wedding Style Font for a Child's Birthday Party Invitation?
We would not put a Creepy Horror Style Font in play for a Calming Meditation Class.
The point is, there are many fonts / typefaces out there and more being created every day.
There is no lack of options to choose from - maybe too many!  Maybe even overwhelming!

So, think about your topic, what font / typeface best "illustrates" that topic?
If you are unsure of how to interpret this, please come to me and let me know that.
We'll take a look at that and get a plan of how to proceed.
I may be able to help you.
The following is a Rubric or a Check List of items to be applying to your Word Cloud.
Just put a Check in front of each item as you get it done.  After all of this, you should have quite a nice design.

If you have any questions or are unclear about any of these directions please let me know.
You can Save this document to your own Digital Folder - Just "Save Image As" to the Word Cloud Project Folder.
