GRAPHIC DESIGN II • WELCOME BACK! CALENDAR • A Refresher in Everything
ILLUSTRATOR or PHOTOSHOP or BOTH • Visuals Theme
Okay, moving right along. Now you're ready to work on the finished Illustration or Photography for your theme or subject matter. We may have already discussed the easiest and most efficient way for you to produce this piece of art which will be your Theme for the Calendar. You can scan an existing photograph but that will not be the final art. You will have to manipulate that image in some way. It can be your own photo, or a stock image that you have found. Remember - you will be doing 4 Months, so don't get in over your head with too complex an image or illustration. I'd like to see at least 10 images that you will pull the final 4 from. Then, you'll be doing some retouching on those to change them and make them somehow . . . different than their original state. The same goes for any illustration. You can create an illustration or use a stock illustration. Again - you'll be doing a total of 4 illustrations, so keep that in mind when you begin your theme ideas search or thought process. We'll go over all of this information in class as we go along, so don't get too caught up now.
You can also work in both Illustrator and Photoshop to get a wonderful effect. I'll show some samples as we get closer to this part of the project. You can work with textures from Photoshop or you can CREATE your own. Create textures and patterns in either Photoshop or Illustrator and put them together with images or illustrations which have a unique effect when mixed.
