RHYTHM
Part 1: Your first assignment for the POD: Rhythm
is to write an Essay / Paragraph describing what you understand about Rhythm in Graphic Design.
Write the Essay in a Word Document • Double Spaced • In your own words: 10 - 12 sentences
You need to have your name, Graphic Design II, Project, and Period on the paper
You must name the file: (Your First) NameRhythmEssayPdX.docx
And e mail that to me from your school webmail.
The body of the Essay should include where you found your information: Site your material.
Please find at least 3 sites and include them at the bottom of your Essay.
Pose the question: What is Rhythm in Graphic Design?
Then Research / Write the answer to that question

Part 2: IMAGINE Rhythm Poster Layouts
Part 2 of our Rhythm segment is to create 3 Layouts of what will be a Final Poster Design for our Arts Show
IMAGINE:
Work up 3 layouts • 8.5 x 11(Letter) • Using Illustrator and Photoshop
Create 3 Art Boards on one Work Space • 1/2" Margin all around = Live Art area = 7.5 x 10
Note: when I say Live Art Area, that means use that whole area
Portrait Orientation • Do your Informational (Body Copy) in Illustrator
Do your Image Work / Pixels in Photoshop – UNLESS your Design is better created in Illustrator!

Then use a Font from our System Fonts that works nicely with that Title Font

and Site at least 3 Books that you have referenced

PROPORTION & SCALE

Proportion & Scale both speak about the size of objects - in the world, in art, architecture, whatever.
Scale refers to the size of one thing in relation to another thing. Proportion refers to the relative size of parts of a whole.
The human body is an example of this. The Fibonacci Sequence is a set of numbers with the pattern of each number
being the sum of the previous two. The Golden Ratio is a design concept that helps to create visually appealing proportions
in art, architecture and design throughout history. Rule of Thirds are three equally sized horizontal and vertical sections
that help one choose where to place design elements. It is very effective in placing and sizing pictures in a layout.
