SAVING PHOTOSHOP FILES A couple of General Rules: PSD Rule: Always Save your Files as a PSD FIRST. PSD Rule: Always Name your Files with your First name, The Name of the Project, and the Period JPG Rule: Always Save the JPG Second (after the PSD) JPG Rule: Always TYPE ".jpg" in place of ".psd" when saving a JPG.
SAVING A PSD (Photoshop Document) FILE: Save your File as a PSD First.
1. Keep all the Layers choose: "File" then choose "Save As" then Name your File as Follows: 2. (Your First) NameProjectNamePdX 3. Make sure you choose Photoshop from the File Format Window. 4. Check to be sure that ".psd" now shows at the end of the file name. 5. Hit SAVE and Make Sure you save this in the PSD Folder for this Project.
SAVING A JPG (PROOF) FILE - Learn the Actual Name for the Certification 1. Put the Curser (Mouse) at the TOP LAYER and "RIGHT CLICK". 2. Choose "Flatten Image": This will Flatten all the Layers into One and it will change to "Background". 3. Go to "File" and choose "Save As" 4. Choose "JPEG" (Choose the First One in the List) 5. TYPE .jpg at the end of your File Name - PCs do not do this automatically (Grrrrrrrrr), Macs do :~)• 6. Now Click Save and Make Sure you Save it in the JPG Folder of the Project you are working on. 7. In the Pop-Up (Quality) Window: Slide it to "Maximum" and Click save. 8 Send THIS (the JPG) to Babkie for Grading / PROOF
